The Horticultural College and Research Institute works on all sections of Horticulture. The Department of Vegetable Growing and its research station Zinsenhof in Lower Austria has this research agenda: Organic growing, low-input production, alternative growing drafts for small-scaled farms, vegetable diversity, and networking for developing organic solutions.

Role in the project

HBLFA will contribute within the project to the following objects of research:

  • improving sustainable and diverse cropping systems,
  • developing year-round-production,
  • closing winter cropping gaps in Central and Northern Europe (work package 2).
